Types of wood
The quality of retified wood is directly linked to the quality of the “natural” wood which is treated.
For a long time many people believed that Retification transformed a second class wood into a first class product and therefore considered that the process had defaults that were in fact those of the natural wood.
We selected the species most adapted to Retification, according to their proximity, their technical potential and their accessibility.
For each species, we select a special sawing, cutting up and the quality according to our knowledge of the wood and thermal treatment. Retification concerns as much broad leaf trees as coniferous trees.
Our desire is to propose the highest quality on the market. Ash trees, Beech trees and poplar trees are systematically are first choices, having no apparent knots. Pine trees, except some exceptions, answer to the same requirements. Only the imported spruce is presented with knotty characteristics.
